El Día de la Madre

May 10:  As in other countries, Mother’s Day in Mexico is an occasion to celebrate moms for all they do; showering them with candy, flowers and other gifts. Many area restaurants offer special menus for Mother’s Day, and local children often put on mom-themed shows at schools and cultural pavilions. The main difference between Mother’s Day in the U.S. and México is the date. In the U.S., mothers are honored on the second Sunday in May. In México, the date remains the same each year:  May 10.
