Que Pasó Cabo - Events

A few decades ago, there were less than a handful of annual events held in Los Cabos. Today, cape cities  Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo host a wide variety of high-profile, year round to-dos, including some of México’s finest fairs, festivals and fiestas. Los Cabos is now home to, among other highly anticipated occurrences, an annual culinary event attended by thousands of people, highly-regarded film and comedy festivals that bring big-name talent from the U.S. and beyond, an officially sanctioned pro surfing competition, and of course the world’s richest fishing tournament. At CaboViVO, we keep you current on what has happened and is happening at the bottom of beautiful Baja California Sur, courtesy of enticing event previews, comprehensive onsite coverage and revealing interviews with organizers and attendees.

Summer is the season for great surf on the Sea of Cortés side of Baja California Sur, as evidenced by the pros of the World Surf League, who head to Zippers point break in San José del Cabo each June for the Los Cabos Open of Surf.

The inaugural ATP sanctioned Los Cabos Open tennis tournament was won by big-serving Croatian Ivo Karlović, who defeated Spanish star Feliciano López in the final 7-6, 6-2. The most memorable moment, however, took place aboard dinner cruiser Caborey, when López and fellow pros Bernard Tomic and Sam Querrey played an impromptu set against a gorgeous Land’s End backdrop.

¡Gran Fiesta Mexicana!

“Just another day at the office” has an entirely different connotation in Cabo San Lucas, where The Office on the Beach not only serves up fresh local seafood, steaks and traditional Mexican specialties, but each Thursday night hosts a Gran Fiesta Mexicana, with fireworks, free tequila shooters, piñatas and candy for kids, and a stage show featuring Pre-Columbian folk dancing and other entertainment.
