King of the Beach Volleyball Tournament at SUR Beach House

One Day Only June 30:  In the mid 1980s SUR Beach House, formerly known as Las Palmas, became famous for a legendary volleyball tournament and bikini contest held each Easter. This tournament was started by the Reyes family, the owners of Las Palmas, and many of their guests who were avid volleyball players. Several, in fact, were 1984 Olympic gold medal winners in Los Angeles, and others played in college. Cabo was a home away from home for many of these athletes, who still return annually to enjoy the area. In 2016 the owners of the Bahia Hotel and Bar Esquina reopened Las Palmas as SUR Beach House, and are now recreating the good old days as a tribute to the late owner Eduardo Reyes and his family. “The King of the Beach,” Sinjin Smith, along with friends will return to Playa El Médano and the glory days on June 30th, headlining a day of volleyball, fun and camaraderie.
