Ironman Los Cabos

November 12: Ironman premiered locally in 2013, as Los Cabos became the second Mexican site (after Cozumel) to host an Ironman series triathlon event. The three-part competition poses a rigorous challenge:  swim 2.4 miles, cycle for 112 more, and then finish with a marathon-length 26.2 mile run. In the interests of inclusion, a 70.3, or half-triathlon, has also been added. This year’s races, scheduled to take place Nov. 12, will again showcase the area’s picturesque mix of mountain, desert and Sea of Cortés vistas, as an international field of contestants vie for prize money, as well as coveted qualifying spots in the annual Ironman World Championship, held each October in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
