Los Cabos Open of Surf

June 21 to 23:   Surfers have loved Los Cabos for decades, thanks to the region’s excellent year-round waves and “endless summer”. But for the past seven years, only one set of dates had to be specifically circled: those of the Los Cabos Open of Surf. When it premiered in 2013, the Los Cabos Open of Surf was a 6-star men’s event under the ASP (the forerunner to the World Surf League). Women joined the fun in 2014, and from 2015 until 2018, the LCOS was a WSL qualifying series event for women and junior men and women. This year, the event undergoes yet another evolution, as it drops the WSL affiliation and moves from the Zippers surf break at Playa Costa Azul to Playa Monumentos. The latter is one of the most legendary local breaks, and the only one to offer views of Land’s End in Cabo San Lucas.
